The Story Behind the Shot // Beach Hut
For 2021 I've decided to start sharing the stories and behind the scenes of what goes into the creation of a new design or collection.
My first new release this year is called Beach Hut and it's a new addition to the Banter Collection which launched today.
Back in September 2020 my husband and I went on a self catering holiday, staying in a wee cabin close to Drumnadrochit. We did day trips to Applecross and Moray, drank a lot of tea and enjoyed some peace and quiet on our balcony.
Shoot Day // 17.09.20
We've never been to the Moray Coast before but the weather in that area seems to have it's own microclimate. We arrived at Findhorn, grabbed a bite to eat and headed for a stroll on the beach. It was 26 degrees with blistering sunshine and just enough wind to make the waves crash onto the pebbles. There was a seal bobbing in and out of the surf and a few dolphins off in the distance. Bliss!
I shot lots of images of the beach and the huts (that red one eh?) and we vowed to holiday up there properly once we can all travel safely again. I put a little scrapbook of the day together to share with you.

I've created a series of posts with the story behind some of the shots that have gone on to become designs. You can read them all here.
