Patter, n. A line in conversation; chat intended to amuse or impress; an insiders language.
Call it what you will, banter, patter, craic or just good chat. Everybody loves a bit of banter right? A well known phrase or words your granny used to say.
I love all things vintage and I'm a sucker for a bit of nostalgia. I'm a photographer and The Banter Collection was my way of dipping my toe into the product design world. A wee side hustle if you will. It all started from a desk in the corner of my living room. I created a range of 8 greetings cards which featured my love for Glasgow and that timeless old camera style. I had a wee box sitting on a chest of drawers that all the cards fitted in to. To be honest, I really didn't expect it to go anywhere.
Some of you will remember a wee shop on Byres Road in the West End of Glasgow called Boxwood. Jill was kind enough to nudge me in the right direction and stock my wee batch of cards. That first wee batch of cards was all but gone in just a few days and all of a sudden, sh** got real!
Fast forward a couple of years and I created a totally separate product label, Neon Gray. My travel and landscape photography didn't gel with this quirky collection and with the help of Maria from Luminate PR and Gillian from Blockface Design Studio, I launched Neon Gray 18 months ago. I love having my own product label!
The start of this year has seen the existing collection double in size with new products coming online regularly. I have a notebook full of words and phrases just waiting for the right image to pop into my mind and I'll be launching a bunch of new designs this Autumn.
